Trump, Mueller seek to block new federal investigation into fake news

Trump, his attorneys and a special counsel are seeking to block a new federal probe into fake-news stories.

Trump’s lawyers are also seeking a temporary restraining order that would stop the Justice Department from enforcing new criminal laws related to social media and social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook.

Trump and his attorneys have not been charged with any crime.

But they have argued that the Trump-linked companies, which provide social media content and content for news publishers, are “subverting the traditional boundaries of news reporting” and “making false claims.”

Trump’s attorneys are also asking for a temporary injunction that would prevent the Justice to enforce new criminal rules related to online content and social platforms, including Twitter and the Facebook News Feed.

Trump is the first president to sue a media company for defamation, and the lawsuits have been the subject of controversy.
